Crushes are the bane of Yunmi’s existence. Luckily, she doesn’t get too many of them, but when she does, her brain goes haywire. It’s like having a split personality - she never remembers what she did around her crushes, but she is sure it was something awfully embarrassing. Pair her awkwardness with very poor choices in men and you get the full picture of what Yunmi’s love life is like. She wants to deny these crushes because she’s not like all the dumb girls she sees losing their minds over some boy in school. She’s smart, she’s focused, yet she’s still a teenage girl.
Her latest subject of attraction is Shon Minho - and she hates herself for it. It’s bad enough she’s obsessed with a boy, she’s obsessed with a third year resident bad boy. No one can blame her, though. Who wouldn’t want that? In a way, he is perfect for Yunmi. Foul-mouthed, tough, and way too straightforward - it compliments Yunmi’s own aggressiveness beautifully. They would be amazing together. If Yunmi stopped stalking him, that is.
She should stop stalking him not only because it’s creepy, but because when she wants to see him, he’s never there. And when she doesn’t try to find him, she’s the only person that notices a person crouching down by one of the bushes in the courtyard as she’s leaving the school and the only person that stops to inspect the scene. With her head curiously tilted to the side, she takes a few steps forward towards the man - the person’s facing away from her, but from the build, she concludes it’s definitely a male - and wonders who it could be. It’s strange that she doesn’t manage to recognize the back she’s seen so many times, but when she finally does, it’s already too late. He turns around, and she’s staring into the male’s eyes, her own wide in shock upon making eye-contact with her crush for the very first time.

Just as always, but even more so now, Yongha lived for the night. To hell with the day, and the countless hours he only cared to fill to make them pass quicker. Luckily he wasn’t alone, even if life at Sunhwa begged to differ at times. But you’d very rarely find him in his dorm after curfew, and tonight was no different. When the count was over he’d return to his room, take a quick shower and prepare for the night ahead. Luckily his roommate wasn’t the type to rat him out, and he did take care to not make too much noise once he returned. But this was a precious routine for him, one he planned to keep up until he graduated. Because this school was poisonous, but he wouldn’t let it kill him.
The nights belonged to his friends, that precious group of people who he had planned to stick with through thick and thin, but who he got separated from when his father took his life in his own hands. Yet what is Yongha if not inventive? He shared midnights and drinks with them every other day of the week, so life wasn’t that bad. And since exam season was nearing for them, too, they all decided to hit their favorite club up and just not think about what waited for them, come morning. All he wanted to do was to have fun, and that’s what tonight was dedicated for.
The blush on his cheeks after one too many drinks didn’t show through his make up, but the glimmering eyes and warm smile was enough to give him away: he was drunk. And happy, so happy. “She got lost again?” Yongha leaned in to look his friend deep in the eyes, staring a full minute in concentrated silence before resting both hands on the other’s shoulders. “You’ll go get her, yeah? Give her a hug from me, tell her she’s great, show...” Silence fell again as he tried to remember what it was that he wanted to say, but after an additional quiet minute he gave up, shrugged and let his company for the night go. He was pretty sure they’d return, but he couldn’t recall if that had actually been implied during their brief, long forgotten conversation. Oh well.
Yongha turned to the bar and ordered himself another drink, which he told himself should last until they came back. While he waited for the bartender to prepare it he reached up to check that his hearing aid was securely in place, eyes just briefly scanning the space to his right. Five seconds later he glanced back to do a double take, realizing that he recognized the man but couldn’t quite place him anywhere. And that kind of irritated him. He never remembered names, but he was usually able to recall where faces belonged. Not now, though, and that lead him to staring way longer than was necessary -- too deep in his confusion to recognize, and react, when they locked eyes with each other.
