So I’m checking out the crew working on the new YGO and,

Also, the guy in charge of series composition worked on one episode of Zexal, so at least someone here aside from one va has done ygo work before.

Idk while the animation is different it doesn't feel "cheap"

It's a lot brighter with its colours, and the .ain difference is it doesn't feel like it's trying to emulate Takhashi's style.

But to me it looks fun. If reminds me of other shows, like Buddy Fight. And from the little I know that show can get pretty dark.

This just feels like Pokemon all over where people complained about the very simplistic animation but damn did it have a great story and characters.

One of the key frame animators has even worked on OG sailor moon. The company itself has handled another great cardgame anime - Vanguard.

Yah it is different and I get it might not be everyone's cup of tea but we've only seen one short clip.

There are plenty of scenes from any of the yugioh series that you could pull out and make the series look bad.

DM; Mostly looks good but there are some awkward /not as good animation moments

He'll even Zexal and Arc V (even vrains) even if not a lot you could probably screen grab some less then stellar animation moments.

Tbh part of me isn't surprised I mean often series whether it's changing studios/animators or choice change will change art styles.

Idl perhaps this'll be easier on the animators and that trying to put out the quality and style of detailed animationthag VRAINS had was like putting a lot of strain /stress on the animators.

Also idk I feel it works/fits since the characters are younger.
