okay so there was something that set me off about the Mike and Holly scene and I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT
basically- Mike is talking about "Mike the Brave" and how he does dungeon crawls, right? and there's something he says that ticks me off- he says, "[...] where he fights monsters, and evil wizards, and sorcerers, and stuff."
Now, if you look at the quote, he says "monsters, evil wizards, sorcerers". so far, we've seen them fight two of these three things- monsters, meaning the demogorgons/demodogs/mindflayer/etc, and evil wizards, aka Vecna, who is also referred to as such in the byler field scene. y'all know the one.
in THAT scene, mike calls Will similar to vecna- says that Will's basically him. (or something along the lines of that, I don't know the exact way he phrases it.) and then, when Will pushes back against that idea, calling vecna a wizard (!!) mike counters back and says "you're more of a sorcerer". yeahhhhh? see what I'm saying?
I'm gonna jump topics a bit, so STAY WITH ME NOW- while all of this COULD be coincidence (which, personally, I don't really believe in with this show, but whatever) there's another thing that makes me wonder. in an interview, Caleb said that if he were to describe a teaser in ONE WORD it would be 'traitor'.
why would he say that? why the FUCK would that be the word? we have gotten NO evidence that anybody would betray the party, but. you know what we do have evidence of? Will being connected to Vecna. Will being so connected to Vecna that they've gone to the extent of genuinely just CALLING HIM vecna at LEAST twice (the byler field scene and the scene with Will and Robin in the playground).
and while yes, Will has found some newfound freedom in his connection to Vecna and discovered his powers, we still know, for a fact, that Will can be controlled by Vecna. he has been before! It's not a stretch to say that Vecna would get the idea to use this new, powerful Will Byers to his advantage. in fact, what if that was his plan all along? he gave this whole terrifying speech about how he broke children, how Will was the easiest to break. and then he just left. why? why would he do that unless there was SOMETHING he knew, something that would ultimately end up in his favor. I wonder what that could be?
Look. I'm not saying its going to happen, I'm not saying its canon, I'm not saying that it could even be CLOSE to what happens. for all I know, maybe goddamn KALI or someone else of the likes swoops in and betrays the whole party. all I know is that's a lot of stupid fucking coincidences. And, as has already been stated, neither I nor Lucas nor Dustin nor really anybody else on the show believes in those.
