I’ve been thinking about Young Justice lately, and I realized that this time 10 YEARS AGO we were in the middle of our very first hiatus.

We had NO IDEA that we’d end up having so many hiatuses during seasons 1 and 2 that it would add up to be 1 and half years worth of hiatuses.

Or that Young Justice would get cancelled in 2013.

Or that our love of Young Justice would be so powerful that we would BRING IT BACK in 2016.

We probably didn’t even think we’d still be watching new Young Justice in 2019 and waiting for more in 2021!

We’ve had a hell of a journey and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us.

Mornings

I don’t own Young Justice and I’m still not over Wally and Artemis. 

The light crawled across her hardwood floor as the sunrise peeked through her blue curtains. Rays shined harshly against the red 7:02 on the alarm clock.

Artemis groaned, shifting against the redhead's body that curled towards her.

“Wally,” she whispered groggily.

He groaned, tightening the strong arm that lay over her as a silent request to go back to bed.

She let out an airy laugh before pushing his arm back and flinging her own feet down to her floor.

She shivered as her toes hit the cold surface. She stretched her arms high as if she was trying to chase all the sleep away. Then, she looked back to the sleeping redhead. A true smile graced Artemis’s face and her eyes softened. This was her life. No evil, no fighting, no dying, just her and Wally and Brucely. Sighing, she left the soft comfort of her bed and headed toward the bathroom.

Hearing the shower sputter on, Wally blinked once, twice, then shoved his head further into his pillow. Unlike Artemis, Wally was more than happy to ignore the light that burned against his closed eyelids.

This was what retirement meant: long nights and slow mornings. After years under the mask, even the speedster relished their quiet retirement.

By the time Artemis had finished her shower, wafts of freshly made pancakes filled their little apartment. Her feet padded to their living and kitchen area where she found Wally placing the last pancake on his plate. Three for her, eight for him and one for Brucely. The light glinted off their silverware as she took her place at their small table.

 Short, I know. I got sad writing it.

I’m not going to worry too much about the Will/Artemis thing, you know why?

I don’t think Grandon would do that to us.

They’ve always been aware of what is popular in the fandom; they killed Wally because they knew it would have the most impact for goodness sake.

I somehow doubt they don’t know that a significant portion of this fandom ships Spitfire and that the majority of the fandom wants Wally back.

So, no, I don’t think Will and Artemis are going to be a thing anytime soon.

Just have faith in Grandon, they know what they’re doing.

Remember that we’re not the only ones who fought for this show to come back.

I’m really uncertain about yj s3 because I’m not sure what they could do to make me actually like it, as opposed to watching just to keep up with the fandom. Which I’ll do anyway because the yj fandom is great and I have good friends there, but I’d rather enjoy it, y’know? Like. I’m worried that they won’t handle the Wally question in a way that I’ll be able to respect -- that they’ll either not bring him back, which would break my heart, or they’ll make it too easy so it doesn’t feel earned, or they’ll introduce a bunch of nonsense drama between him and Artemis in some misguided attempt at introducing ~*~*tension*~*~ in a way that doesn’t make sense for the story/characters at all. I just want them to do it right, and after how unhappy I was with season 2, I’m not at all convinced that they will.
