i don’t usually read a ton of post apocalyptic stories but i couldn’t put this one down! the horrific situation detailed in the story seemed very realistic which made things all the more compelling and terrifying. i would definitely recommend this to fellow dystopia junkies and those who love a good survival story!

cue the waterworks! Sally Rooney’s “Normal People” hit me hard. weirdly, i found myself enjoying how flawed the characters were. connell & marianne’s relationship was anything but perfect. it was depressing and awkward at times, yet that didn’t stop me from pressing on. i just wish we could have gotten more of an ending! i recommend this book to lovers of contemporary literature.

i LOVE this duology! i’ve always been a fan of veronica roth, ever since i picked up the divergent series when it was first published, but she certainty outdone herself with carve the mark and the fates divide. the chemistry between akos and cyra was just so beautifully crafted and i couldn’t get enough of it 🤍 i especially loved the differing perspectives each chapter and the world building. i felt so immersed in the culture she created without feeling completely overwhelmed. i definitely would recommend this to lovers of veronica roth and those who are fans of the science fiction genre!
