Forest Conservation Days at YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake!
It’s been an exciting week of learning and fun at YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake! Over 1,300 students and 200 adult chaperones from over 20 Central Valley schools had the opportunity to learn earth science and forestry right here on Sequoia Lake! Engaging and interactive programs were facilitated by the Society of American Foresters, Reedley College, the US Forest Service and many others. Smokey Bear even made an appearance! Students learned about aquatic ecosystems, forest management, soil science, cultural history, and much more. It was a week full of energy and education. We look forward to continuing our great relationship with all of these fantastic agencies and creating more opportunities for environmental education programming in the Spring and Fall. YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake’s diverse landscapes offer unique opportunities for experiential education. It’s a great place to grow!
