guys I'm not dead, have Nexus comforting a Y/N (that was defo not designed with @peachpopfizz in mind or anything /sarc)

ANYWAYS- if you're wondering why there aren't stars on his cap, it's cuz I originally made this with turning it into a gif in mind.

But those files corrupted in my original program- so I had to export them and use an online gif maker.... hence why the quality is worse on the gif!

I know you said you dislike y/n content in writing, but how do you feel about art?

Dislike is a strong word, but I do think it’s often very exclusionary, and even somtimes badly masked self fiction, which is fine, but it’s better to make a self insert OC in that case, and not pretend most people should be able to relate to your very… specific y/n.

But! When it comes to art and illustrations, the only artist I’ve ever seen that have managed to create a sort of character x self insert/non descriptive art that works is @birf.

Not showing face/hair or even too much of a body makes it work impressivly well imo. The skintone being a dark grey is also a genius move.

Basically, keeping the canon/main character in focus and not giving the self insert too much characteristics that can ruin the experience for different people is what makes Birf such a genius here.

gotta be honest tho, not making the YN a bald, white and faceless blob helps a lot, lmao, I seriously prefer those who makes their YN a bit of an oc with some lesser seen characteristics in bodytype, skincolor etc!
