A minor detail post-Reveal, but you know, the villagers never ever call out to Danji. They only address Yuru.

Until, Granny Yamaha and Danji's mother, Kyouka.... who are the first to address Danji as well.

The obvious reason reading for the first time is: Yuru is the one who is hardworking and helpful, and Danji is a slacker. So, they don't see any point in asking his help when he is going to run off anyway.

Even so, the villagers can at least say hello to Danji, no? Or scold him for slacking off, like Kyouka did: "Learn something from the hardworking Yuru, will ya?!"

But then, with context, we realize, oh, oh. That's right.

The villagers can't see Danji.

Ok but why the hell does Danji have a shadow.

See what I mean? And yes I know that Danji says that he can create a shadow for himself if he concentrates, but the point remains that Danji not having a shadow has been carefully hidden in plain sight right from chapter 1. His literal introduction panel is drawn with a blatant absence of his shadow, I don't know what else to say.

Yuru not wanting to bring Danji to the mountain with him because he knows it's dangerous and he doesn't want Danji to be caught up in it vs Danji not wanting Yuru to go to the mountain without him because he knows it's dangerous and he doesn't want Yuru to face the danger alone...

They're friends your honour. Despite all the deceptions, in the end they're still friends.

What do you think will happen to Kyouka?

She asked the Zashiki-Warishi to never return to the village again, and to arrange a living transfer in downtown, most likely thinking she won't be alive for long...... but I don't want her to die, she was the only one who actually cared about Yuru.

I want to hope she outlives all the Higashi mess and manages to meet up with Yuru's parents (and maybe reunite with her kids as well), but seeing how final her letter was presented in the series, it's probably all just wishful thinking.

Also, unrelated, but I kinda want the little boy to assume his Danji-form again. He was Yuru's only real friend back in the village, and it'd be nice for Yuru to have him back. On a similar note, Kiri can assume a random girl form, not-Asa, and befriend both Yuru and Asa, and maybe even Gabby. The more friends in their circle, the better.

Headcanon: Since Danji cannot physically grow like humans can, he just alters his form to match Yuru's height every time Yuru grows (trying to write a fic about this as we speak).

He has never really bothered to put on any muscle mass, though, so he looks very lanky, especially next to Yuru, who does have muscles. Yuru just sees this as a sign that Danji ought to do more farmwork, much to Danji's chagrin (because he's not actually a slacker like he pretends to be).
