#yod aspect pattern

there aren’t a lot of posts going in depth about chart patterns except stelliums (from my knowledge) hope it’s alright if i ask you about YODS i have 3. thank you for taking the time to respond :)💗

The Yod:

✭ Consits of two planets in a Sextile, while both planets of the Sextile are in an Inconjunction to one (or possibly two) planet(s) -> this is called the apex planet

✭ Keep in mind that this is considered a minor aspect pattern, so keep the orbits pretty close, for the Sextile as well

✭ The aspect is known as the "finger of God/fate" and it's because the apex planet the finger is pointing to is an are that is fairly unnoticed or needs more recognition and awareness by the individual, almost like saying "Hey! That area here in your life is very special, pay attention to it, there is a huge lesson waiting to be realized by you!"

✭ Therefore the energy of the Yod is represented by Pluto (sudden and profound realization and transformation)

✭ To get into the meaning of the Yod, we have to look into the aspects involved here: the twp planets inconjunct the apex planet can make this kind of a gray area in the individuals life, meaning that it needs lot's of adjustment and creative work to deal with the disagreement that is created between the three planets here

✭ Thus the apex planet, it's meaning and influence on the individuals life is often unrealized by either missed timing, unawareness, self sabotage, etc.

✭ The Inconjunction is represented by Virgo energy, meaning that the awareness that is brought to the apex planet is done by high awareness, reconstruction and searching for alternative methods of how to work with a problem and find a solution.

✭ The apex planet and it's 'base/Leg' (meaning the two planets forming the sextile) are activated by transits, progressions, eclipses, etc. -> here we get to the sudden changes that will happen in ones life and that can be anything: new people, relationships/friendships, new conditions and circumstances in your life , new situations, etc.

✭ Here we get to the part the Yod is known for: sudden changes that will force you to be highly aware of what is happening with you in your life/in your environment and how it influeces you

✭ With that being said, the apex planet is not only to be looked at when it's activated: the activation of the planets of the yods are only here to further push awareness as it brings change the true lesson here is to look at the apex planet and reinvent it

✭ What is meant be 'reinvention'? As I've mentioned before, the Inconjunction is an aspect formed by two planets that have absolutely nothing in common. As the apex planet is very much pressured here, it requires searching for new ways to make meaning out of the apex planet, so initiatives, and to succesfully integrate the area it represents in your life -> usually, the task here is to look at the archetype of the planet involved and to consider the alternative ways of how to live the energy out/use it, as the new ways of interpretation will grand the individual more flexibility and adaptability in the area of the apex planet in their life -> it's important to work with the apex planet continuously

✭ The apex planet basically has to transform it's meaning to the individual and thus the effect of the apex planet will differ from that point on and be views in a completely new light

✭ This actually reinforced the importance of the Yod's 'mission' and how it's tight to ones spiritual journey and believes, because the individual will most likely realize the significane of the apex planet and how lot of events in their life have pointed to the fateful turn of outer events and inner, personal changes

✭ The mission looks different for everyone of course, but generally it says that when outer planets are involved, it's more about your evnironment and your place in it and with inner planets it effect more directly your psyche and personal state of being

✭ also: it's not only important to look at your the planets, signs and houses involved, but also the houses rulers for a more in depth insight of where the Yod will have an influence on you and what areas in your life are involved

✭ The Yod pattern is considered very powerful, because it can make someone aware of their 'calling', but this calling doesn't have to be quintessentially good, keep that in mind.

hey scorp! is it possible to have a yod pattern between ascendant-mc and a planet? the pattern doesn't show up on the chart, but i have my asc sextile mc, and a planet inconjunct both

Yes, this is possible. A Yod pattern can occur when there’s a formation of 3 astral bodies [luminaries, planets, asteroids, etc] or calculated points i.e, the Midheaven, Nadir, or Ascendant or descendant. Here’s a helpful resource on the Finger of God/ a Yod:

2 Yods would just double and tense the energy, so I will keep the description here a bit more general for yods in the composite:

ꕥ As we know, the Yod aspect pattern brings profound change in a certain area of someone's life, but instead of knowing that there is special area in your connection, the two of you will probably be standing in front of many giant walls, bumping heads as you try to figure out what the cause of this problem is.

ꕥ What the circumstances are will only the placements tell us in the end, but It could be, that - as the Yod will get activated by transits eventually - the connection will find itself in some sort of emotional turmoil, possibly a more dramatic event and certainly an emotionally demanding situation for both people. Here, the houses will play a big role because they show the area where the Yod's energy will manifest strongest, this might become a 'trouble area' in the connection, as in that a lot of long-term problems can actually be traced back to this particular area/theme of the connection.

ꕥ And yes, it's important to notice that the Yod in a Composite Chart is not an easy indicator, but it also doesn't indicate doom as well! The way of unraveling the Yod and stepping into its process of realization and transformation is never easy, this aspect pattern can lead to the two realizing there is more to the story of their connection, there is a purpose for them coming together, and I believe that connections with a Yod in their chart do not only discover more about themself and thus apply the Composite Yod energy in their own individual life path, but two people act as a symbol to others with a Yod in their chart. There is an area, a characteristica about their connection that can seem to stand out and can leave a mark on others. At best there is self realization about the symbolism in their connection and self satisfaction in the way the two integrate their 'roles'
