Watching the Hat stream right now and it’s making me want to write fic after two years not touching any kind of writing for the yog fandom. 

Who wants to give me stupid one shot prompts so I can write something ridiculous and probably Troffy or possibly Hatsome? The more ridiculous the better. :|

Oh ho ho, for the fic questions! Ethereal Whispers, 2, 4, and 14

I WILL GLADLY ANSWER THOSE QUESTIONS I have too many thoughts. 

2. What’s my favorite part of the fic? 

I always have way too much fun writing really pointless banter, if that isn’t obvious by just how much of the fic is made up entirely of pointless banter, so basically every instance of that. I enjoyed writing all of the silly dialogue, and personally think that it was the most successful aspect of the entire fic. 

4. What part of the fic was the hardest for me to write?

Anything and everything involving Hat Films, for multiple reasons. It was my first time attempting to write any of them in any seriousness (they did have a cameo in a silly little Nanocoffee thing I did, but they didn’t even have dialogue), and given how much I love them and how so many people write them absolutely flawlessly, I found the prospect really daunting. The obvious other reason is the subject matter; I never really tried writing much in the way of angst or darker themes before this fic, and the chapters involving the Hats are obviously the darkest of the bunch. So basically, there was nothing in any of those chapters I didn’t fear royally fucking up. Not to mention it was just emotionally draining to write it all. There’s a reason those chapters took me longer to write than the entire rest of the fic put together. 

14. If I were to write a sequel to this fic, what would it be about?

Well, I intend to write a sequel, so… I suppose I could go into a bit more detail on what it might be about. More of an ensemble cast- you can expect to see pretty much everyone that showed up in the first to some degree, and a few of the more prominent secondary characters are definitely getting an upgrade to full on mains. Also I maaay be planning on expanding things from just ghosties to a broader array of supernatural thingies. Just maybe. I might possibly just want an excuse to have my own Scooby Gang minus the dudes in rubber masks. Deal with it.

So ya’ll would be cool with it if I just turned Ethereal Whispers into a story about Nilesy being precious right? I feel it would only improve it.

Guys help how did I go from being all inspired like I SHALL WRITE MORE OF MY FIC TODAY only to have my friend be all “idk i have trouble seperating the Yogs as characters from the real people, i mean maybe if you wrote me like a thing for each character with IN CHARACTER info and some fanon i could start to see where you’re coming from” and then treat it as CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

I just wrote four pages of bullshit. I was tired by the time I got to honeydew and his section literally consists of “Likes digging fucking holes. Also somehow a bit of a ladies man despite being a fucking dwarf in a world of non dwarves. Did you see Gimli getting all the bitches in LotR? NOT REALLY. He’s also fucking insane so how is he even charming? I don’t even know where I’m going with this, this is all you’re getting for now. ”

While I’m not really playing a huge amount of brain-time to yogstuff atm, I’m still vaguely tempted by writing more Divergence (with some tweaking of the plot, based on how other threads have sort of shrivelled - which pretty much means: “Add Lalna.”).

I was reminded of this, by this needlessly dramatic summary I dropped into Skype yesterday:

Endergame ended in blood, and darkness, and a world unmade.

Divergence ends in fire, and screaming, and the understanding that even gods may die.

...one day I will have a plan for a story that doesn’t have an incredibly ominous summary.  But that is not this day ;)
