This week’s artifact from the @YogiBerraMuseum is a recreation of the @YankeeStadium scoreboard on the first ever #YogiBerraDay — September 19, 1959. If you look closely, you can tell it’s the 7th inning stretch. The @Yankees eventually beat the arch rival @RedSox 3-1 as @BaseballHall of Famer, #WhiteyFord, threw a complete game for his 15th win that year. The whole game took 1:57. This week’s artifacts from the @YogiBerraMuseum are from an incredible day in #YogiBerra history. After a 14-year feud with George Steinbrenner that kept the @Yankees legend away from @YankeeStadium that whole time, Yogi was to be feted and officially welcomed back during a big ceremony slated for Sunday, July 18, 1999 — #YogiBerraDay. Fans were ecstatic to have #Yogi back and his battery mate for the only #perfectgame in #WorldSeries history, #DonLarsen, was also there for the pregame ceremonies. And guess what happened… Yankee pitcher #DavidCone @Coney3636 throws a perfect game of his own: a 6-0 masterpiece over the #MontrealExpos — with Yogi and Larsen in attendance: This is Cone’s game used hat from that magical day and a baseball he signed and inscribed.
