Upwards & onwards - YoinkTober Day 8 - in which the Queen of Attolia is cold & wet but also thoroughly het up with Outrage at the Sheer Effrontery of the Thief in abducting her, then proposing marriage of all things! She now has no choice but to go onwards and upwards to an unknown fate. (She does not yet know that she has had all of the knives she keeps on her person stolen by the Thief.)

Homewards - YoinkTober Day 16 - When Lalli finishes his scouting & returns to base, he isn't thinking of that as 'homewards', he's looking to the dawn in the east, towards Finland. That's homewards.

(Posting for the sake of the daily challenge, but otherwise I'm not happy with how I executed it. I ike the idea though, & may try again at some point.)

Wake Up and Smell the (Coffee)(Nettle Tea)(Beverage of Your Choice) - YoinkTober Day 14 - Maaaybe 'waking up' is not actually what's going on here! From The Queen of Attolia:

"He'd had a porcine habit of eating her food when he'd finished his own. When his wine cup was empty, he would reach without comment for hers, having noted if she'd sampled it first. She sat through her wedding feast with her lips stinging from the poison of the powdered coleus leaf that had touched them as she pretended to drink, then watched as he took her wine, as casually as he had taken her country, and choked on it and died."
