The Memory Police by Yōko Ogawa #10 3 stars . There’s a strange serenity to this novel about an island where things slowly disappear, but ultimately that serenity never develops into anything tangible or rewarding. It’s certainly a unique story and writing style, and perhaps that’s what threw me, but ultimately I hoped for something more than was delivered.
