In which Yuuki was never chosen to be Lucky Student, and instead Utsuro takes his place - but the Voids still need him for their plan, a vessel that looks like Utsuro for his consciousness to latch onto.
So Nikei volunteers for the riskier job of kidnapping him, figuring that at the very least, the others can find a way to throw their money around to get him out of jail, or Utsuro can help when the plan has come to fruition. After a perfectly staged meet-cute (just to throw Yuuki off of his guard, let him trust in Nikei, giving the journalist more opportunities to nab him when the time is right.) and have realized that hey, they share some things in common, and both have some free time, rather than just exchanging numbers to continue their riveting conversation, they should just sit and talk for awhile! And Nikei tries to get Yuuki to take a shortcut down a shady alley where Hajime lies in wait, almost drugs his food before Emma texts him a reminder that the only thing he brought has to be injected directly into the blood stream, and gets foiled again and again.
Finally though, when Nikei has agreed to walk Yuuki home, since Nikei has friends in the area who he can walk to for safety, and Yuuki gets a bad vibe from the three people who keep coincidentally being in the same location as them; it happens. The golden opportunity, when Nikeis fallen in front of Yuukis driveway, and Yuuki has informed him of their lack of home security, it hits him. He didn’t use the drug, it’s getting late, and no ones around... Nikei wraps his arms around Yuuki in a hug, letting one hand wrap around his waist, over to his hip, with the other running parallel, reaching the gingers neck. After Yuuki stammers, then hugs back, Nikei does his best to distract him by talking about what a lovely day he’s had, how kind Yuuki is, while making sure that he’s certain he’s about to hit a vein with the needle.
But he’s snapped out of the rush of adrenaline mere milliseconds before rushing away from Yuuki, quickly hiding the needle in his pocket; for Aiko, Yuukis mother, has passed by a window and noticed her sons frame illuminated by the porch light. The three look between each other, Aiko getting over her stupor to ask the two to come in. Nikei promises her that he’ll be okay, but she insists that a sleepover never hurt anyone, and that Nikei would be much safer waiting until daylight to head home. So he winds up frantically calling the others, who reassure him that while kidnapping Yuuki right from his home will likely cause more issues than it’ll solve, at least now, they have a way of getting Yuuki easier, and a bond with him, which can only be used to hurt him.
Nikei tries to ignore the sick feeling in the pit of his stomach that comes with the mere suggestion of hurting Yuuki; and inside his room, waiting for Nikei to finish his call, Yuuki celebrates the date he has scheduled with the cute boy he met.
