In which Maeda Yuuki, already saved from some unknown dark fate he refuses to get into, wants nothing more than to be blessed with luck again, to save him, for the talent of "Lucky Student" he was given before isn't helping him how he needs now.

So he puts together- and looses control of- his group, finds a vessel to hold his saviors conscious after Mikado brings back the savior in Alter Ego form, and is so ready for the moment when the black haired boy goes numb and easy to replace. All he cares about is bringing back Utsuro; for how else is he to survive? His only choice is to find someone to wipe clean of all emotion, so they can be rewritten with the saviors personality (or lack thereof.) But what a shock when instead, Yuuki feels himself exploding with emotions, while watching Yomiuri Nikei do his best to stay alive in the school game.

From the fiery jealousy that seeps up inside of him as Nikei laughs with Sora and Yoruko, to the stabbing pain as Nikei cries over the loss of a particularly close classmate, unaware one of Yuukis friends killed them; Yuuki feels it all, but the worst is yet to come. Worst of all is when Nikei nervously approaches him, his inherent journalistic curiosity prompting him to check in on the self-isolating lucky student- what do you mean it's something more than that? All Yuuki seems to notice is the blush covering his own face, as Nikei gets closer to him, doing his best to befriend Yuuki- and the sick feeling in his stomach as he ignores Nikeis cheery attempts at kindness.

But sickly sweet sentiments won't save the journalist, for Yuuki steels himself, and lies in wait for his shot at salvation, for there's no way the two can be happy together; so Yuuki tells himself that salvation will still be sweet without Nikei by his side.
