"Take care of him, Eris."

Ral's words echoed in the back of the Astral's mind. Never once had she given the Guardian a reason to doubt her, she'd wanted to tease, but the words had remained firmly lodged in her throat, even long after she'd been left to her own devices. She didn't need to be told that this man meant a great deal to Ral. Even if she hadn't been entrusted his care with that simple request, it was still rather easy to tell she would have happily laid everything, not just her life, down for what amounted to be a mortal... Quite unlike the Guardian she'd come to know over time.

Even so, her request was a powerful one as far as Eris was concerned, and it was for that the smile she cast once Kinich came into her line of sight was a calmer, more relaxed one than she'd normally give. The human world was something that still utterly fascinated her day by day, but this one was different - She was her to fulfill a task, which meant the eager, childlike wonder she'd show anyone else had been consideribly dulled in the hunter's presence. Not to mention she was all too aware he disliked such things, unlike her usual 'follow like a baby duck' companion in Ororon, but that was besides the point, wasn't it?

With a slight tilt of her head, chin resting on her palm and elbow propped up atop the top knee of her crossed legs, Eris made herself as wealcoming as she could possibly appear to be. Nobody was around in this part of the Natlanese countryside, none could hear their talk, nothing could threaten nor bother them... She didn't need to keep up her guard so far out from any of the nation's settlements, to why not~? He'd ha a request of her, after all, and she was just the star to fulfil it - No need to drive him off by looking tough and scary~!

"Then I assume you're quite serious about what you asked of me? It won't be an easy thing to walk through - You're sure this is what you want... Mr. 'Malipo' Kinich?"

"Eh, a little here, little there, little getting locked up for a while... Same damn chaos I've always been in. Wouldn't have minded you coming to save me, though - Handsome man like you~" Flirting? More stolen kisses? A cup of his cheeks with both hands to pull him in for one after another? If he didn't know she'd missed him, he most certainly did now, especially when a flurry of kisses came with a bright and happy laugh! "But I'm here now, and if you think you're getting rid of me then you better have a damn crowbar, Fish~!"

Even a nickname? One goat's most definitely back, and she's not letting anything stop her!

Okay, so he had a problem. He was stuck, well he wasn’t stuck but his tail was--the yellow bolted end right where it faded to black was lodged right underneath a very heavy log. The Raichu has tried his best to yank the appendage free but it simply wouldn’t budge.

Her hesitance to answer probably said it all. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she had been looking to hide - but in her own defense, she wasn't cut out to lead! Among their own kind, maybe, but something like the temple, where she had her familiars and humans alike looking for her to make all the decisions... It wasn't a role she could comfortably settle into, though she'd been trying her best to. And when paired with the pressure from the others...

"How come he can't do it?" Aria finally questioned, curling her arm around Aelius's in a quiet request of support from her twin. "The things he comes to me for... They should be able to answer a lot of them. I love to help them, but to lead like some of them want me to... Yanqing should be able to do that too, right? I know they're young but we..."

A soft sigh slipped past her lips. She hadn't come up there to complain, and she doubted he wanted to hear it any more than she wanted to do so - all the more reason to file it all away for later and give his arm a gentle squeeze. "Besides, everything's been peaceful. What's the worst that could happen? One of the kids even brought by snacks! I brought some to share, but I left 'em down inside. Didn't want to risk dropping them from this high up. It's a really cute set of jelly animals! They made little kitties out of them too!"

A small pause...

"...Also... Kaveh said the same thing when he said I couldn't hide there this morning."

"Here. It wouldn't be right for me to ignore what today is, no matter how quick you'll probably be to proclaim this 'isn't your style' and that 'you don't have room for it' or whatever else. Just because you and I don't always see eye to eye doesn't mean I'm not still concerned for your sense of what's aesthetically pleasing, you know. So use this to liven up a backroom or something. At least I'll know you'll at least have one room that isn't devoid of all style if you do-"

Off to the side, Kaveh had left a rather expensive looking hand carved wooden statue wrapped with a bow. The figure itself was of a pair of Dusk Birds carved from athel wood, left plain and not painted, with various inlays of crystal give the statue more aesthetic value. Kaveh himself had actually designed the statue and had it commissioned earlier in the month from what Mora he could -- but he wouldn't tell Alhaitham that much.

"...Anyway, happy birthday. Even someone like you shouldn't go without some company today, so if you want-" Kaveh couldn't stop a very audible sigh though. "I'll treat you to drinks and a dinner later, too."

◀ — He crosses his arms as he looks Kaveh's gift over, unable (and unwilling) to conceal the frown slowly sinking into his features. It's another of their routine arguments, albeit one he assumed would cease now that the architect was no longer living with him.

It's not like he should care about the aesthetics within Alhaitham's house at all, now ---

"Why waste your mora on something you're sure I won't display?" he asks, gesturing at the sculpture. "Unlike you, I'd rather fill my home with items of practical value, not... artsy knick-knacks."

Perhaps that is a bit harsh, even for him (the sculpture is clearly not something cheap) but he's never been one to hold back his opinions.

"Since you've already bought it, however, I suppose I will try to find somewhere I can put it," Alhaitham says, rolling his eyes. It is rare of him to soften a blow, but he doesn't wish to cause a scene in such a public place right before a friendly gathering.

Speaking of gatherings, though...

"Also, you don't need to worry about dinner or drinks. Those are paid for already, unless you insist on paying for them on another day."

Though he’d done little more than complain, Ace couldn’t help but smile wider, resting her chin on his shoulder. She’d asked, after all - And even past that, the fact he’d been so vocal with him problems told her exactly one thing: He trusted her with them. He didn’t mind venting to her, trusted her to hear him out and possible help with his problems, and that he was letting her touch him as she was... It was enough to leave her comforted and warm, peering at his work from her ‘perch’.

She’d always loved his designs. Kaveh was nothing short of a genius when it came to making something beautiful and yet still retain its practicality, safety, and usefulness, and this looked to be no different, sapphire eyes slowly skimming over the blueprints laid out. There was still much about them she didn’t understand - she was a vision researcher, not an architect, and being married to one who tried to teach her the technical aspects from time to time didn’t mean she could pick up on it overnight, as much as she’d have loved to - but one thing was for certain: They would take time, and his clients needed to let him work.

“Then we’ll have to remind them of that,” Aceline finally noted, letting her fingers curl against his stomach in a lazy, hopefully relaxing scratch. “If they’re being picky, we’ll just have to find the design that blows them away and reminds them of why these things take time. Even past that, they need to be reminded the safety of those using the port is paramount, as well, and you’re the best for the job in both regards. We’ll just have to grant them the patience to see things through properly.”

We. As long as she’d known him, Aceline had never let Kaveh stand alone - Especially when he was frustrated like he was, regardless of how well she could wrap her mind around whatever bothered him. If his clients wouldn’t give him the time to create what they needed, why would she not take the time from her own research to face them with him and vouch for his work? If she could catch an argument or a point he missed, then didn’t that prove two heads were better than one?

A tilt of her head nuzzled her cheek against his, a content hum to follow. “What you have already is beautiful, you know. Your designs never fail to be so.”
