Kin
My first P4 game was actually Arena. The moment Yosuke popped up I felt an intense pull and a weird "whoosh" that I can't really describe. I was overwhelmed and immediately shut off the game. I laid down for awhile, wondering what I was feeling. After it passed I tried to play again with same results. I started to feel strange "memories" pop into my head. I didn't understand any of it. I figured I was being "crazy" and went on with life.
I went down the edgy, anti-sjw route and discovered a popular thing to make fun of: otherkin.
I pretended to think it was stupid, but another part of me thought "who cares? They're not hurting anyone".
Hanging out on Tumblr one day, sifting through "otherkin cringe", I discovered "fictionkin". I immediately read everything I could find about this. I didn't want to admit it, even to myself, but I was excited. I felt like I had connected with the word, that it perfectly described me.
I knew the strange intensity I was feeling for the P4 games wasn't normal. I played the main game and other persona games, to be sure I wasn't just super into Personas style. But it was deeper than that.
I kept brushing off the memories, and it hit a point where I was too sad and angry to play the main game. Sad due to things being different, missing my friends, etc. Angry because I kept telling myself that "this isn't real! Stop it!". I stopped playing and moved on with life.
Years have gone by with no changes. I decided to re-look into fictionkin and realise I shouldn't keep lying to myself. I've been so afraid of being mocked that I hid my feelings. I'm still nervous. I really have self loathing issues when it comes to this.
Realising my truth
I used to be one of those that laughed at otherkin for years.
But I've learned that I'm fictionkin and now I'm going to be dealing with that with this blog.
I've noticed it seems dead in the tags and stuff, but that won't stop me from posting.
I'm not looking for other P4 kin or anything, though it'd be cool to talk. I'm mostly here to work my own stuff out.
Hahaha obscure kin here; Hi I'm Yosuke from Persona 4! Looking for anyone really I don't have a lot of memories but I've been getting more lately (does that count idk?) I'm 14 so no one over 18 but yea- hope this works :D
