Tips from Enerskin’s Medical Consultant Dr. Nara Yoon: How to Prevent Slippage
If you’re having trouble keeping your Enerskin sleeves, short tights or shirt in place, it could be due to slippage. Here are a few tips from Nara Yoon, Enerskin’s medical consultant, on how to prevent slippage.
Slippage can be due to a few factors. First, the top seam must be wrinkle free throughout the entire circumference, especially in the back, where the slippage tend to occur. If you put it on while sitting, check again when you stand with the knee straight to make sure that all areas are flat.
If the skin tends to be dry, the slippage may happen more frequently. Because of the nature of our silicone material, the more you sweat, more grip the silicone will have on the skin. However since typically people are not sweating until fully warmed up, as an initial measure, you can apply aloe or dab some water on the area where the silicone is in contact with the skin at the top or where you feel the slippage tend to occur. If you wear Enerskin short tights & knee sleeves, wearing the shorts on the top will prevent slippage. If you don’t want to wear these short tights on top, you can wear any bike shorts to keep your knee sleeve from falling.
We also recommend utilizing Enerskin’s customizable functionality. Enerskin sleeves can be customized by cutting between the lines of the top of the sleeves to adjust the overall size. The sleeve will still compress the body part properly because of its double seamed pattern. For users that are shorter, cutting the sleeve may allow for easier use. However, your product cannot be returned if you cut off part of your sleeve.
