But they have enough on their plate. Fuck off. They’re doing what they can. Not everyone can afford going on a protest - it a risk. Risk of getting caught or beaten up or getting homeless/locked at home. Not everyone can go through it.
bang chan is basically my friend at this point because
only a couple of days ago prompted by another one of my favorite anxiety induced dreams, i thought, hey, can i have one night with just a chill dream, just a normal dream, a skz one perhaps (whenever i have a skz dream they're always chill for some reason, i don't mind that).
and today, hip hip hurray, one of my dreams (i kept waking up, falling back to sleep and starting a new dream, so i had like 18 of them) was just.. hanging out with bang chan in my room for some reason? we just kinda talked and joked a lot. at some point he referenced some russian meme (the dream was specifically in english, my brain always takes effort to let me know we are having an english dream, and the meme he referenced were like two words in russian, but i forgot what it was, unfortunately, but he knows languages, so not unrealistic) which made me completely lose my shit. i even remember my response to that al;sdk and then i tried to explain the whole meme to him
anyway, waking up i realised most of the skz dreams i had were me hanging out with bang chan, and just kinda talking about stuff, so you know, we're literally friends
ooh yeah because all the other major vampires are doing tell-alls of their human lives and their journeys into vampirism and daniel's very secretive of his past. my theory's always been his family is just very normal and middle class maybe from nevada. and daniel probably didn't mean to lose contact with them during the eleven years he spent with armand before turning, there was just so much going on. and then there was his vampirism, losing and regaining his sanity, and then the nonsense the other vampires bring about, there was just never a good time to reconnect with his family. he's sure he knows he's alive and safe (in a matter of speaking) since the vampire chronicles have gathered some notoriety. but it's been decades since he talked to them, he's sure they're better off without the dangers of having a vampire relative stopping by for visits. and daniel prefers keeping his personal life a secret from the public and the vampires to avoid unnecessary attention
Well, we never got a “Daniel book,” so it’s hard to say what we would know compared to Louis, Lestat, Armand, Marius, Pandora. 🥲 (edited to say: I just realized that was your first sentence and I apologize, I was high as hell)
I’m 99.9% sure in-universe IWTV was published under a pseudonym (QotD mentions this or am I losing it?) so that wouldn’t have been a concern to his family.

I imagine once Daniel & Armand became a Thing™️, Armand took a particular interest in Daniel’s family and childhood, mostly for research purposes. He wouldn’t have been motivated to hurt them because they’re not interfering in Daniel’s life with him, and as balls-to-the-wall insane as he can be, Armand isn’t one for gratuitous violence (he operates on rationale in that sense).
(I also think there was definitely a year where Armand made Daniel take him home every calendar holiday so he could experience “mortal commercial celebrations,” and there’s a photo of them in the old Molloy family albums entitled Daniel + his ???, Christmas 1980)
And yeah, he would’ve never returned as a vampire, he probably forged a death certificate (or had Armand do it) once he regained his senses to give his family some closure (Daniel would be a baby boomer now, his parents/siblings at least are very much alive).

I always figured he either had a really shitty relationship with his family that he didn’t consider them when he went seeking a out a vampire (sort of suicidal there buddy) OR that he justified the vampire thing in the name of investigative journalism, and kept his distance over the next few years to protect them from Armand.
By the time Armand had ceased to be a real threat to him, Danny’s in the throes of a drug, alcohol, and blood addiction and has no world outside of his “merciless and all-loving demonic god.” Heroin by The Velvet Underground might as well be about Daniel re: Armand

no, he actually wasn't haha i was interested in the franchise well before getting to know about any characters at all. one of the schools i went to had some of the manga volumes in their library and i decided to read them on my breaks there and got very invested in aot during that time.
in the beginning i thought levi was the main character and eren a side character, imagine my surprise (and subsequent disappointment) when i found out he ain't 🥹 i also believed him and mikasa to be direct niece and uncle but well, at least they are from the same bloodline (that was before knowing his last name was ackerman btw i just made that guess randomly one time watching the show).
