I am beyond overwhelmed by the love received on my recent InstaStories post [its still there incase you missed it]. More than that, I’m also proud of everyone raising awareness on the blatant racism and colorism still taking place in not only the beauty & fashion industries but in society in general ❤️ . The list of brands & companies who represent only one type of woman is far greater than @revolve. So we NEED to keep the conversation going! We have a long way to go but if we continue to stand and take action in solidarity, we are unstoppable. No one should be overlooked just because of their gender, their religion or the colour of their skin✌🏽 . Sharing a woman of color ONCE a week to your page does NOT make you inclusive. Featuring ONE colored girl in a campaign does NOT make you inclusive. Bringing ONE token black girl on a PR trip does NOT make you inclusive! 🤔🤨 . And to the Jamaican companies who fly in white influencers rather than using those from your very own country, WAKE UP! Because if this continues I’m calling you out NEXT! 🙄 . BTW we cannot just make all this noise and complain about lack of diversity without taking action. We NEED to start supporting the black brands, companies, projects, start ups, you name it. We are POWERFUL…anyone else notice that “Black Panther”, the first black Marvel superhero movie, made history by selling the most pre-sale tickets in Marvel’s cinematic universe?!!! POWERFUL! 🙌🏽 . So if you realize a brand/company is excluding your demographic start giving your coins to the companies who actually represent us. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼 . Happy Sunday Everyone 🤗 #StylishLee #BlackGirlMagic #YouBelongNow #EvolveAroundTheWorld
