I'm fairly newly diagnosed and a Master's student who is having a fairly difficult time with writing assignments for school. I have this problem where the expectations for the assignment are easy for me, I get it completely done in my head, and can't bring myself to write it out. Does anyone have any tips on technologies or strategies that help ADHD students with writing at the graduate or post-graduate level? Everything I can find is aimed towards high school students mostly.
Just because everything is aimed at high school students doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. Have you tried any of them? I’m finishing my undergrad this year and I still use techniques and sources and such I was given in high school.
There’s not much out there aimed at college or grad students. However, any article I find about grad students and school work brings up those high school methods. They are good and helpful tips, truly.
For writing, get the ideas in your head, and visually brain storm. And I mean seriously draw that stupid little bubble with sticks and other bubbles thing you did in like middle school with your ideas.
I mean it. This will help get ideas DOWN. Then, take a break and then move on to continue getting it all together.
