For future growth of my business MB Cleaning, I would more than likely use personal investment. Because my business is a service with not a whole lot of over head costs, it gives me the ability to put aside a certain amount of money each week into a business account. This savings will allow me to invest in my own company for expansion without needing to take out any loans or call on any investors.

Our real expense will be when we decide to hire employees. We will need to double our supplies, equipment, and be able to float paying out two more people as we build up the clientele to fill the work days. This is all very much achievable on personal investment if you budget well, make goals and stick to deadlines.

For my business as it stands now, it would make the most sense to use personal investment because I have the ability to do it slowly over a long period of time therefore not costing a whole lot of money. When we hire, we are planning on only hiring for one day a week, and as we pick up the clientele, we will have our employees work two days, and so forth. This method though will take longer, there is less risk and allows us to expand at our own comfort level.

If we were starting from scratch, buying equipment, products and hiring a couple employees it would make sense to use love money or an angel because you would have no revenue coming in at all and lots of expenses.  Having love money or a bank loan would be great if you were looking to build a business quickly and could then invest a large amount of money into advertising to gain clients. Honestly, if I hadn’t spent years cleaning part time while looking after small children and building my business slowly, I might have gone in this direction.
