I love writing Jack and Smalls!
I typically either write them as father daughter or significantly older brother and baby sister, but mostly as father daughter.
I typically HC smalls as being mixed raced normally half white and half black, but I also HC that she could be half Hispanic/ half black
I absolutely HC that Jack, whether he be father of brother, spends months taking classes with someone to learn how to deal with textured hair. He is so scared that Smalls will be made fun of for her hair and he wants to learn how to take care of it so she will feel confident and comfortable
I HC that Jack had a tattoo of Smalls birth name and birthday (he also has one for Race) on his chest
Whether or not Jack is actually her father, Smalls often calls him dad or daddy because he is the one that raises her
Jack does affirmations with Smalls every morning in the mirror so that she’ll never hate herself like Jack used to hate himself
They love decorating together. Jack is so artistic and he loves interior design so he has Smalls tell him whenever she needs a change and they redecorate Smalls’ room whenever she feels she needs it
Jack teaches Smalls how to play the piano and guitar
They love making cookies and cakes together
Especially when father/daughter, they love to have dance parties. Jack was really poor when Smalls is born and he has to scrap by and pretend everything is fine and so when Smalls is scared that he’s upset, he turns on some music and they just dance together to cheer each other up
