"Attempted squicy wooing of a teenager" is making it really clear that they're not revisiting Klave and I think the sacrifice that one of the siblings make is Klaus deciding not to pursue Dave once he realizes who he is and returning to the timeline to help keep Vanya from bringing about the apocalypse in 2019.

Yeah I agree. Making Dave look specifically like a teenager means they’re bringing attention to the age difference and they won’t be connected romantically. I think the sacrifice Klaus will make is telling Dave not to go to war...
