Video Premiere: "You're My Very Best Friend" by Josh Lovelace (NEEDTOBREATHE)

“I always knew I wanted to make a record for kids,” says Josh Lovelace (best-known as a member of the GRAMMY-nominated NEEDTOBREATHE), who on November 17 will release his first-ever family music album, Young Folk. With a goal of making the music "folky and accessible, rather than annoying or watered down," Lovelace, a married fellow "Rock Father" of two, has crafted a collection of songs inspired by his love of folk and family music - a love passed down to him from his grandparents, who first shared with him the music of Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. Later he would discover the works of Sharon, Lois & Bram, and his path to becoming a performer would be set. Today, The Rock Father™ Magazine is happy to premiere the music video for "You're My Very Best Friend," the debut single from Josh Lovelace and Friends.

About the Song: "“You’re My Very Best Friend” is a fun song that was written for my daughter Margo when she was only a few months old," explains Lovelace. "It describes the kind of friendships I hope she keeps as she gets older. Whether it’s spending the day at the zoo or throwing a ball in the yard, I hope she’ll have friends in her life that are loyal, honest, and who will look out for her as she grows up. My hope for my kids and for anyone who hears this song is that they would become the kind of “best friend” that they would want to have. Rain or shine, let us all be better friends to the world around us, loving people more every day."

“This record is a love letter to my kids,” he adds. “I hope it's a special thing for them to cherish. When I'm on the road, their dad‘s voice fills the room, even when he’s thousands of miles away. But also, songs have lives of their own, and I’m excited for other people to hear the songs, and maybe adopt them as a part of their family too.”
