An Open Letter To White People Covering "Work" And "Formation"

Can white people please stop butchering "Work" and "Formation" ?

I wrote another article about how tired I am of white people being white.

If a college administration ever asks why students of color want professors of color teaching classes in disciplines that focus on marginalized peoples, this is the reason why.

You know what’s really fucking annoying? Those pro black intersectional feminist blogs that actually have no idea how to put theory into practice. Example: Nicki Minaj bailing her brother out of jail. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I would bail a dude out who is accused of rape, let alone accused of raping a 12 year old girl, but before you start to crucify her, why don’t you put on your intersectional feminist glasses and think about what would cause someone to do that. Black women for the entirety of our existence in white supremacists nations (and honestly probably before that) have been taught to protect our black brothers at all costs. We learn from a young age that rather than us, our black men are at the most danger and we must lay down our values, our morals, our ethics, our fucking lives, if it means that we are giving them some type of solace, if it means we’re saving them. Or even better when women are appealing to the male gaze, and you SHAME them because they are appealing to it? What are you doing? Why are you blaming the victim of the system rather than working towards dismantling it?

i got really upset today because I really thought I was ugly. Like I know I’m beautiful because everyone is beautiful, but I did my makeup and hair and put on a cute ass outfit and just realized how fucking poppin’ I am. Like holy fucking shit, I am so damn bad. Like it used to really irk me when I wouldn’t get notes on selfies during blackout or when I would post a photo I thought was kind of cute on tumblr and I just thought I was ugly, but like fuck y’all. I am so poppin’, I can’t even handle this shit. Happy black out yo.

I like love black men in theory rather than practice. Like I think they’re wonderful and beautiful and will always support them, but I don’t know if I could ever be with one?
