Music Monday

For this week’s Music Monday, I’m actually taking you below the Canadian border.  Newfoundland band Hey Rosetta!  recently shared a video of an acappella group from California.  The University of Southern California’s acapella group, Overflorw A Cappella did a beautiful cover of “Young Glass” during their spring show. Check out the cover!

Totally fine!  It just really freaked me out.

I saw this shifty unmarked white van slowing down as I was walking down the street (I immediately felt uneasy).  He pulls over and this creepy guy starts asking me for directions.  I notice that the back sliding door is facing me and I just think "Oh hell no!  This is how every kidnapping story goes down!"  So I keep walking the opposite direction he parked so he would have to go in reverse to keep talking to me and I just yelled, "Sorry!  I have to go!" and I just get the fuck out of there.  Right after I heard him drive off really fast.

This all happened on Pitt River too which is kind of crazy.  Also a couple years ago a kid nearly got abducted near my house by a white van.

I've only won 2048 once but another good trick is not to go up until you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. Just both sides and down :) And if you think you're getting into a pickle, slow down and think about your moves and you'll totally get out of it!

1. What is your least favourite film genre?

You know, I am (sadly) not as much of a movie watcher but because I am a big scaredy cat, horror.  

2. Which subject at Hogwarts would you excel at?

Probably history of magic or muggle studies. Idealistically though, transfiguration. 

3. Share an interesting personal experience relating to reading.

Hmmrrr, I would say that a lot of my closest friends and I share a love of reading and similar tastes in books which makes me love them more. 

4. What is your favourite period in history?

This will offend people over the age of like 60 BUT the 1960s. Social/cultural transformations, yo. 

5. What is your favourite item of clothing you own?

I have a Bon Iver shirt that I got from the Yellow Bird Project like 6+ years ago and it's printed on the American Apparel grey track shirt...it is glorious. 

6. How would you rate your culinary skills, and is there anything you’re particularly great at making?

Moderate to poor. I am not a big foodie tbh which translates into me not being good at making food but I can make excellent pasta dishes and grilled cheese.  

7. If you could interview any author, living or dead, who would you chose?

Either J.R.R. Tolkien or J.K. Rowling. You can't choose. 

8. What is the first book you recall being read/reading as a child?

I read a lot of these books that we called Sunshine books in Kindergarten and The Berenstain Bears series. Classic. 

9. What is your favourite weather condition, and are there types of active weather that frighten you?

A cool but sunny fall day. I don't think any active weather frightens me...maybe if I witnessed a tornado or something. That would be scary.

10. How many languages do you speak, and if you could learn another, which would it be?

1.5. English, sometimes French. I would learn French better and maybe learn latin. I always wanted to take it in high school and then never did. 

11. Name three (regardless of whether they work) tactics you resort to when faced with writer’s block.

Walks, lying on the floor, complaining.
