((*snugs* hi Johnny!!
young-j-crane replied to your post: Greed
(I am glad Scarecrow isnt in there.)
((To be completely honest, Loki has so much shit going on in his life right now that the whole Scarecrow thing is sort of small potatoes.
More of an amusement, really.))

The Serpent Beneath the Cradle
It isn't wise to anger the Gods.
That is something that every human has always known – at least subconsciously – since mankind hauled itself, flopping and panting, from the primordial soup millions of years ago. It is something entrenched in the mind and branded into the soul, even if the marker has grown faint with the soot of the industrial age. Now, nobody's asking for complete reverence. Well, almost nobody. There is one god who wouldn't mind having it – even tried to acquire it recently, and would have managed if it hadn't been for those meddling kids.
Naturally, it's this one that a certain Jonathan Crane of Gotham had to go and piss off. Which, in turn, had put him and his entire family right in the line of fire.
And torture and murder are all well and good, and this particular deity enjoys it as much as the next chaos god…
But when the target of one's vengeance is protected by another, stronger god, one must explore other options. And unfortunately for Jonathan Crane, his husband Jonny, and their infant son, the one wanting revenge invented the art of exploring other options.
And what better revenge could there possibly be than to slowly turn Jonathan's son against him? Nobody would know of his plan, and only the son would know of Loki's visitations. He would start early…while the child was still an infant. He would be a constant presence throughout his life, a constant whisper in his year, standing in for his natural conscience until the boy was finally old enough. And then…oh, there were so many options to choose from! So many courses of action!
But for now, Loki is doing reconnaissance. He leans down over the side of the child's crib, arms crossed atop the railing. This was almost too perfect…too good to be true. He casts a furtive glance around, but there is nobody else about. Well…save for what looks like an over-grown, yellow chinchilla. It's a bit bizarre, but hardly worthy of particular note, and so he returns his gaze to the sleeping child.
"Well now, little one," he croons. "It seems that you have acquired a patron god."
