ORIGINAL CONTENT: Day vs Night @ US Steel Ohio Works sinter plant - Youngstown, O. circa mid 2000s I don’t think I planned to take both of these from the same vantage point, pretty sure It just worked out that way. The dark photo was from a summer night when I went down there with my cousins and a couple buddies. I wandered off solo at some point, think I was hanging out on the LE&E trestle over Division St. watching the action at V&M Star (Youngstown Sheet & Tube Brier Hill Works). The rest of them went up in the mill and were going through those conveyor chutes. Said they came across two guys in there stealing wire. I guess the scrappers kept asking them what gang they were from, couldn’t understand why they were there. They wound up talking to these guys and they said they been scrapping the place since the 90s. Said they were there with another guy and the cops came. They were running towards downtown on the old LE&E RR line and I guess their buddy fell off the trestle over the river still holding his bag of wire. Said they never saw the guy again. #therustjungle #steelvalley #steelmill #rustbelt #youngstown #youngstownohio #ussteel #youngstownsheetandtube #abandoned #demolished (at Steelton, Youngstown) https://www.instagram.com/therustjungle/p/BvmdGoRha_W/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=9o2zn49elm1y
