LET ME HAVE THE SPINE
Billy never understood why people said anger builds up until you pop. In his experience the smallest thing would make him snap, a sudden serge of rage rushing through him to the point he could barely control what he was doing. Punching walls, kicking his bed or throwing whatever was close across the room until he was left red in the face, out of breath and embarrassed by what he had done. All of this brought on by something as simple as losing his car keys or tripping on the rug. Not his father pushing him against the wall or Max ignoring him. Those were so common they became numb.
Billy snapped because he was always angry. An underlying current of irritation at everything around him just waiting for the pin to be pulled and set him off. He had just become so used to it, he didn't notice.

Actually, he hasn't know what it's like to be a kid since he was 8 years old because the treatment he received from teachers and parents and most adults throughout his life and is reaching a point in his life where he doesn't know anything else and now that he is actually an adults he's being handed even more responsibilities despite the fact that he has been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders since he was 8
