At the time I was hearing a lot of televangelism and bullshit. I had a '69 Ford Galaxie with only an AM radio and it was broken and the radio was stuck on a religious station. And all I heard all day long was preachers saying the same shit, which is that 'everything is going to be okay, you're going to be fine, and you're going to live forever in paradise if you send me 20, 50, 100 bucks'. And that was it, that was the message they were sending people all day...Anyway this is one of those songs, it's not about being anti-religious, it's about being anti-bullshit, anti-people who take advantage of other people who wanna have hope. I just wanted to be your saviour.
So, last night I completely filled up my hope journal, which I bought when I was 19 and had just began to pursue my life as a christian. I'm now 22. It took me three years to fill. Three years of ups and downs, and sin and repentance. All I can say and proclaim is that the Lord is so truly faithful and patient! Even though I'm still a baby in Christ I'm so sure and confident that the God of ALL hope is going to provide for me and lead me further, that I may become mature and lacking in nothing.
Thank-you Father for your patience, love, grace, guidance, provision, mercy, truth, comfort, for all answered prayers and the one's yet to be answered and all of your promises and YOUR faithfulness. Thank-you Jesus for giving me life through Yours. Forever in Your precious name, Amen.
(This is a poem I believe the Holy Spirit led me with because when I finished it and read it it all rhymed! and I had no idea. Also Psalm 96 verse 2 is within it's walls)
