For some reason when I post things to the tag (I made a rp insp. blog soi don't spam my followers with moodboards and stuff), they don't show up! Idk if anyone else can see the mood board I posted yesterday but I thought I'd check for peace of mind?

hey! i actually had this same problem! i made a rp blog specifically to start sharing stuff but it didn’t wanna work in the tags at first. i did a little bit of research when it happened to me and found something that said:

It has come to our attention that it is a very strong possibility that immediately after signing up for Tumblr there is an automatic wait period before your posts can start showing up in tracked tags.  I don’t know how long the wait period is for but I’m pretty sure it’s to prevent spam blogs from popping up and clogging up popular tags.  If you keep tagging your original content, eventually they will get added to the tag and people will be able to find your blogs that way.

I don’t remember how long my wait was, but I think it wasn’t any more than 24 hours. I reblogged a bit of stuff and ended up deleting my original posts and reposted them about 12-24 hours later and it worked. I’m pretty sure the posts you’ve already made in the tag will eventually show up, though! don’t worry ♡

I used to feel so comfortable with being grey-sexual. Unfortunately I recently came across the ace discourse tag and since then I've seen a lot of aphobic blogs and posts. I feel invalidated and dirty (not to mention homophobic and ableist as apparently most ace people are) - I feel like a terrible person for wanting to be accepted into the LGBT+ community. Does anyone know how to stop feeling like this?

Alright, I’m probably going to get a bunch of angry messages in my inbox for saying this, but I’m going to do it anyway. If the only homophobic or ableist thing you’ve done is be grey asexual, you’re not homophobic or ableist. Being asexual or ace spectrum doesn’t make you a bad person or homophobic or ableist or whatever people are saying over there. It is perfectly reasonable for asexuals to want to be accepted into the LGBT+ community, I don’t care what anyone says. My advice is to simply stay out of the ace discourse tag. I myself don’t go in there unless I have to because it’s never brought anything but negative feelings. People are going to say some not-so-nice things but this is the internet and they have a right to post their opinion, just as we can post ours. It can be difficult, I know, but the only thing you can really do is ignore them. Not everyone believes asexuals are bad or should be excluded, so find those people and stick around them instead. Be proud of who you are, because there is nothing wrong with who you are.

Hi! This year, I got accepted onto and started an illustration course at quite a prestigious art college. Since arriving and beginning to study, I've realised that i'm at least two years behind everyone in terms of drawing ability. My peers can draw all kinds of things without reference, without breaking a sweat. it's really getting me down and I'm beginning to convince myself that I'm just not good enough, so I put off practising. I don't know how to improve like this. Thanks for reading. :( <3

It’s really hard to be in your position. I’m a 4th year student at an art college, and  I’ve been where you’ve been. Every artist I know has!

Between you and me, I was the worst out of my friends (artistically) all through high school. I didn’t want to focus on what I needed to improve, I just wanted to draw what I wanted to draw, and that stunted me pretty badly! :p

 However, as soon as I got into college, I started making leaps and bounds in improvement. I wasn’t the best in my freshman classes, but I was learning a lot, simply because I was creating a lot. 

Just because you feel you’re behind the curve doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be where you are, and it doesn’t mean you won’t catch up. Do your assignments, listen to your teachers (Within reason! They aren’t always right), MAKE LOTS OF FRIENDS (AND LEARN FROM THOSE FRIENDS!!!) AND MOST OF ALL, use this time in school to experiment. Don’t be afraid to fail. I know it’s easier said than done, but one thing I wish I had done more in school is taken the advantage to experiment (and to fail) while I had the safe space to do so. I know it’s hard to stay positive, and it’s really scary to seem like you’re behind everyone else. But you were accepted into school for a reason. Keep your eyes on the prize, and never ever loose sight of what you love about drawing!! <3 good luck!!

Top books of 2014? c:

I'm a bit ashamed to say that I can't really name a top .. from 2014? I mean I have read some books but I can't really remember which ones, except that a few were Dutch haha.

Though if I had to recommend one book I read in 2014 it would be All My Friends Are Superheroes by Andrew Kaufman

It's extremely cute and funny and heartbreaking and heartwarming and it's short (so short that you can read it within an hour or 2) but that doesn't matter because it's one of the most amazing books I've read in the past couple years!
