my boyfriend just broke up with me and said he likes us as best friends. how do I stay friends with him if I'm still in love with him?

with you still being in love with him, being friends, especially best friends doesn’t seem like the best of things right now

maybe you guys should spend some time apart, and give each other time to get over the breakup (like, over it over it) and once that’s out of the way, see if you can work on building back a platonic relationship

now thats just my opinion, so what i really suggest is doing what feels like the best solution for you right now(whether its being friends or taking some distance), think about yourself, not him, not anyone else, focus on you and what you want 💓💓

Hi! I'm the gym class person from early april/late march. I wanted to ask you for more advice. So far, things are becoming mixed with me, since I heard he kissed a girl at a party (who I am good friends with). I didn't let that get to me because I feel like most guys confused about their sexuality try things with girls. I send him flirty signals a lot and he nonverbally responds to them. He still ends up next to me a lot, and we finally talked on my birthday! But, I'm still very shy. Advice?

i think you could try casually bringing up him kissing a girl at a party, just insert it into the convo: ‘so i heard that… bla bla bla…’

and you could also try telling him without telling him (about accepting who he is) ‘you know there’s nothing wrong with being who you really are, and those who hate you for it can go screw themselves’ type of thing. just like the party thing, bring it up while you’re talking, its just another subject of conversation, nothing wrong with it

if he ends up next to you a lot, take advantage of it, strike up a conversation about something random, something that has to do with the gym class or even just something funny you saw somewhere 

be a little more obvious with those flirty signals, put yourself out there but stay yourself, don’t act like someone you’re not. let him come to you, don’t force him into saying anything. just be really subtle, and make little innuendos like with the being who you really are thing. don’t interpret anything he does or says either.

but don’t always go towards him, and don’t always strike up a conversation, play a little hard to get, just a little, not too much. show him that you can be a great friend but so so much more as well

I've been talking to a guy 3 years older than me and we really like each other. He recently moved away. We always talk about getting married and having kids, but recently my ex started talking to me and I realized how much I miss him. I can see a future with the other guy, not with my ex, but I feel like I really miss my ex. Could I feel like I miss my ex because I'm just not around the other guy? What should I do?

I think what you miss is the memories you have with your ex, but not your ex himself.

Okay so this guy that's a grade older than me has started to talk to me. He told me that he doesn't find me annoying or anything but whenever I talk he mocks me and waits for me to look at him and when I do we keep eye contact for a minute until I look away and he's still looking at me. And while we make eye contact he just gives me this smirk and I can't help but smile back but my friend thinks he likes me and I want to know what you think

well i don’t think he’s making fun of you or mocking you, he might just be teasing you

people don’t just randomly start talking to each other, especially if they’re not in the same grade, depending on how social each person is, but yeah

you could try being a little flirty and see how he responds to that, chances are he’s already being flirty but you only see it as teasing or him mocking you (which i don’t think he really is since he told you himself that he doesn’t find you annoying AND he’s the one who started talking to you)

i’ve had a friend in this situation, the thing is certain people won’t quit, no matter what or who for

you can tell him how you feel and see how things go from there, if he likes you back you have to face the eventuality that he won’t quit just because you don’t like it

sometimes people are able to put stuff aside for their loved ones and i think that shows true devotion
