Wishiwashi
Wishiwashi Nicknames:
Submerged It’s a clever pun that really suits Wishiwashi. For instance, in its school form, Wishiwashi looks a bit like a submarine and submarines go underwater. The “merge” part of the nickname, references Wishiwashi’s school form, as it is literally a group of smaller fish, that combine to make a big one! Pretty clever, huh? Lol. Anyways, you could also try looking into the nickname “Submarine”. It looks like one, and as a word, it refers to a body of water or the ocean (marine).
Preydator / Preyranhas In its solo form, Wishiwashi is surprisingly weak and noticeably tasty (according to its Pokedex entry)—this makes it the perfect prey to snack on! However, in its school form, the prey becomes the hunter, and Wishiwashi becomes something to fear. Even Gyarados is said to run and hide! The second, optional nickname is obvious for its contrast and relatability to Wishiwashi. “Alone they are weak and easy prey, but together they become truly terrifying.” ʷʰᵒᵒᵒᵒ! 👻
Battleship It’s very similar to the first one, but with an added emphasis on its power. This nickname was inspired by the board game “Battleship”. Wishiwashi looks strong, dangerous, and carries a crew of its own (the little fish that make up the big body)!
Wishiwashi Facts:
Wishiwashi is a fishlike Pokémon. Even though an individual Wishiwashi is small and weak, the people of Alola still fear it and call it the demon of the sea. This is because of Wishiwashi's powerful School Form, formed when a Wishiwashi is in danger and calls on its friends by making its eyes shine in an SOS signal.
