New Artwork in memory of Yu Menglong
This Yu Menglong case is horrifying!
I know this has nothing to do with BL, but I don’t have many places I could put this thought out. But I feel like as a Cdrama fan, I NEED to say SOMETHING… and to keep saying it.
The more I read (and watch) the more horrifying it is.
The fact that Irene Song was being linked to the case is what caught my attention in the early hours after the story broke. But it just kept getting worse and worse and worse. It’s been two weeks of just shock after shock with this case.
Boycott Chinese dramas until they arrest somebody(people).
It is really heartbreaking to me what happened to him, and I was not a fan. I can’t imagine what actual fans must be feeling. What ordinary Chinese citizens must be feeling.
But you don’t need to be a fan to be horrified by this case.
Don’t stop talking about this boy… he didn’t deserve that. No one does. And the CCP will not do anything to exonerate and give him justice without international and financial pressures.
BOYCOTT C DRAMAS UNTIL WE GET JUSTICE FOR YU MENGLONG.
Ive just caught up with yumenglong’s murder story and so TW for everyone if in case you do go looking up his story, he was brutally assaulted right before he fell to his death. I feel very strongly about murders covered up as suicide.
These are the IG handles of his murderers or accomplices. Please spread the word. He deserves to rest in peace and entertainment industry murders need to come to an end. Most of the posts related to his story are being taken down on the Chinese Internet. Only his fans and netizens can make sure that he gets justice now, don’t let them bury the story ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
One of the things that makes me especially sad and angry is how terribly lonely a person who accidentally falls into the dark side of reality becomes. Few want to look that way. And such a victim is easily rendered invisible.
But as Han Juwon said in Beyond Evil, "Even if no one cares, I care and I remember."
Our shared concern is the only thing that stands against a system that forces people to disappear one by one. So keep talking about Yu Menglong.
Yu MenLong deserves better.
Some people talk about "respect" when trying to control the narrative on the Internet, but where is the respect to give his demise a proper investigation, to give his fans decent info that actually answers the main questions people have?
WHAT IF
What if there really is something wrong here? If this was your loved one, in these same circumstances, where other people were around, wouldn't you have problems believing the non-answers being given by the authorities?
It would be one thing if people in the West were just confused about culture differences in handling things like this. But fans IN CHINA are concerned.
I consider myself a fairly intelligent adult, and if the images of that window that I'm seeing online are accurate, I have strong reservations about how a grown man, no matter how drunk, could accidentally fall through it.
And if it was a matter of him wanting to hurt himself, you would think all the people he was with that day and night would be properly interviewed about his state of mind at the time. But I have seen no statements about his state of mind at all. Just his blood alcohol level.
Make it make sense.
Give the man a proper accounting. Because IF something involving others happened that night, Yu Menglong deserves to have his story told and responsible parties apprehended.
And for those out there saying that it's somehow outrageous to believe he was hurt by others for whatever reason, I fear those people are painfully naive. People are killed for knowing or seeing the wrong thing ALL THE TIME. Now think about the CPP and the corruption present among elites.
People thought the Epstein Island situation was "unbelievable," too. They thought the Burning Sun allegations in South Korea were "unbelievable." When money, power, and influence are involved, especially in situations where authorities control the narrative openly like in China, the most horrific things are no longer so unbelievable.
But let's keep it simple. Answer the people's legitimate questions.
1. How did he manage to throw himself out of that particular window, drunk or not?
2. Was he depressed at that gathering or prior to it?
3. Who was actually at the gathering?
4. Where are his friends and acquaintances?
5. Were his chat and phone logs checked?
These are no-brainer things to investigate, and shouldn't be outside the abilities of police under normal circumstances. So where are answers?
Sorry, this has hit me really hard. I can't stand to see yet another bright Asian star go out. And if there's something sinister happening among the entertainment elites in China, it needs to be rooted out. Leeching off the dreams of creative young people to amass wealth at all costs, expecting special favors, blackballing people who step out of line, are WRONG. In any country.
The case needs publicity. The Chinese media are trying to convince people that actor Yu Menglong unlived himself, and they are silencing those who want to tell the truth.
The case is truly suspicious, and as many people as possible need to know about it so that Yml can rest in peace.
Alan Yu is dead. Fell off a building and the police are saying it’s not homicide so…
Ugh.
I loved him.
He was a limited actor but I found him so beautiful and so suited for a certain type of role. And nobody except for me loved Love Lasts Two Minds but I did - it’s perhaps my favorite drama take on “I will love you even after I forget you - I will just fall in love with you all over again.”
Anyway, this is tragic and I don’t even know what to say.
