Yungchen Lhamo is a Tibetan singer-songwriter living in the US, whose name means "Goddess of Melody." The song on The Playlist™️ is Loving Kindness, from her album Awakening. Awakening is meant for those interested in sound healing; and the soothing, almost haunting drone of Loving Kindness feels incredibly grounding to me.

Lhamo has an incredible story. After being imprisoned in a labor camp in her homeland of Tibet, she fled on foot to Dharamsal; a journey of over 1000 miles. All while carrying her infant son.

The Dalai Lama encouraged Lhamo to use her voice to spread awareness of Tibet's struggle, which Lhamo continues to do to date.
