i'm a sucker for some good angst because seeing the moment when the rival/best friend is pissed off because the mc is missing/injured is just one of my favorite tropes ever

the two of them and their rivalry are what has been saving me these last chapters
Black Clover spells Julius with a Y instead of J so it's possible that Yuno is actually Juno, so that might be something to explore with the name theory
That's an interesting observation! Thank you!
If Yuno's name is actually Juno then it would probably shift a lot of meaning. I checked and "Juno" has a lot of mythological connections, one of which being "queen of heaven". And that might be a call to Yuno being in a high position or being that of adept in mana but otherwise, most of the meanings relate to protection, women, the moon, marriage and the month June which... isn't really a lot to go on...
HOWEVER, "Juno", if put through translation in Latin, means the heavenly one. Through German translation it's almost the equivalent of George and means farmer. (we're going to ignore the fact that it's traditionally a girls name because this is going hand in hand with Japanese names, most of which aren't solidly put into categories of feminine or masculine, with some being gender neutral. Plus, there are boys who are named Juno so yeah).
Juno, in Roman mythology, is also considered the child of Saturn and the sister or wife of Jupiter (don't ask, some sources say it's wife, others claim it's sister, the Romans were weird in general when it came to mythos).
Saturn was a God/Titan of agriculture, wealth and his reign is described as plenty peaceful. Considering that is meant to be a parental figure, it could possibly been a hint at the Grinberryall family, and by extension (Yuno's Father) Ciel, were not actual tyrants and that whatever was happening in Spade prior to the reveal is not their doing.
Jupiter is... a bit weirder. He's not really connected to Juno in terms of parallel but more so could hint at a sibling or a possible family member. Jupiter was known as a God of Storms, thunder and lightning. His main job was to be witness to divine oaths ie uphold justice and a good government. But at the same time it could be a reference to the Spade Kingdom having a harsh environment but eh. Now Jupiter was a twin of Juno in myth but seeing as how Yuno's an only child that can go straight out the window. But it could show that whatever myth Jupiter may have could be linked to Yuno, seing as how his air affinity magic can be linked to storms.
In particular, the myth of Jupiter and King Tullus Hostilius shows that of a temperamental king who spat on religion trying to bring forth religious miracles after a plague had killed the previous king. After an improper ritual for the God Jupiter, Jupiter burned his house and killed him.
FUn story! The reason why I bring that up is because that could be a hint at Yuno possibly facing off Dante (guy who dresses like a king) after a spell gone wrong which let Megicula possess him and going rampant. This is all speculative, especially since we're going off the assumption of a different letter and with the "heavenly one" description it could also show Yuno being an angelic foil to Asta's possibly demonic/fallen angel/blasphemous origins.
It's a lot of symbolism that's all over the place but some nitpicked parts can be hints.
Yuno's name (Existential crisis incoming)
DISCLAIMER: IF YOU ARE AN ANIME ONLY FAN/HAVEN'T CAUGHT UP WITH THE MANGA, SPOILER WARNING FOR THE RECENT CHAPTERS.
I'm researching names and while Asta's is pretty cut and dry (star) but the meaning of that has ties to his origin story no doubt.
Yuno's is a bit.... weird? Because Yuno's name is definitely with Japanese roots but it's pretty weird in terms of that.
It's mostly ユノ.
Where the 'yu' ユ part has no definitive meaning or purpose. It starts a lot of words but it doesn't serve a purpose overall. Yu could be meaning in terms universal or 'You' referring to someone (probably Yuno).
It's with 'no' ノ where there's a more meta conception because the katakana is a variation of this
It's mostly either a possessive article, the first katakana to the word father or an arrogant use of "i".
Which, the second might be a reference to how similar Yuno is to his father (ciel) but at the same time it probably highlights the same possessive particle.
Yuno's name is a combination of the word You and Me/mine.
Which is.... super weird but at the same time a bit... telling???
We've rarely seen Yuno get any choices. He's gotten through with things out of his control affecting him - ie nearly getting his grimoire stollen in the FIRST CHAPTER, getting turned into an elf and now he's getting news that he's the prince of spade.
Pretty sure Yuno's questioning his own identity and purpose in life. Like he's suddenly bombarded with this huge piece of news and this guy from Spade is telling him to drop his current life, his dream, his home and his family to go save his so called country and then taking over the throne.
With Yuno living life in a village with a society that is extremely classist, no wonder the pot's boiling over.
The fact that in the past two chapters he's sincerely refusing the statement of being a prince and questioning the legitimacy of the claim is a statement of that.
Yuno wants to be Yuno (you (from outsider perspective); me (myself/I)) .
This is only gonna get stronger as more people are going to pressure him into "doing the right thing".
It's obvious that because Asta, the person who's been supporting his own ideas and individuality , has been gone for six months, Yuno's losing a grip on his identity.
He's gonna get it back but it's very possible Asta's gonna knock some sense into him.
But at the same time, it'll put into question just how much has Yuno grown character wise. He's always respected Asta and acknowledged him as his rival while also caring for him, but it's going to put in question his interpersonal relationships. Between his captain, his teammates and most importantly the Spade Kingdom. Yuno has not been the most sociable person among the characters and that probably has something to do with him finding his own understanding of who is important to him and who he wants to protect. Not as some prince or as vice captain but as Yuno. Klaus and Mimosa are both good candidates for friendship but with Mimosa gone due to the time skip, Klaus is all that's left and... He's been rather absent as of late.
I'd argue this arc is going to Yuno's just as much as it will be Asta's.
