Hi! I adore trfl and although I'm sad it's come to an end, the conclusion was beyond perfect! Throughout the whole thing I particularly loved the dynamic between Yuuri and Yura because although Yura liked to maintain his hard exterior you could really tell they cared a lot for each other's wellbeing and I thought you wrote it beautifully! Did you enjoy writing their relationship too? Was it difficult? I have endless praise for this but I am running out of space :D Thank you for your writing!

i really did enjoy writing p much every part of this story, yeah. at first, yuri gave me a lot of trouble, and so did his relationship with yuuri (i think you can see my attempts at keeping them at the distance they had in canon, in like ch 3, and then by ch 4 i was like nope i want them to be real friends Fuck Canon Yurio’s Emotional Constipation)

so yeah! i really like their relationship too, they are good doofs and we all know that i love found family as a trope, so!!! it’s Them. thank you for the ask!! :D

summary:

Half past ten in the morning is still too early to have an angry teenager attempt to batter your front door down, as far as Yuuri is concerned, but when that angry teenager is demanding help in throwing a surprise together for his grandfather's birthday, there's not a lot to be done.

Yuuri Katsuki is not, has never been, and more than likely will never, ever be a morning person.  Mornings are early and beds are generally too cozy, what with all the warmth and softness and not-being-awakeness that they come with.  Waking up and having to rip himself from a cocoon of blankets is generally a painful, sad process.

But there are some things that make mornings okay, like when he isn’t woken by a blaring alarm or too-cheerful Yuuuuri, time to go to practice!s, but is instead gradually made aware that he’s conscious by soft touches and softer kisses, pressed into his hair or trailed down his jawline.

Like … right now, in fact.

“You’re supposed to be helping me with my homework,” Yuri complains, tugging on Katsudon’s sleeve and frowning (never mind the fact that Katsudon is, in fact, in no way obligated to do any such thing).  “Now come on!”

Katsudon purses his lips, very clearly hesitating.  “Last time I came over to your place, your cat scratched me.  I don’t think she likes me very much.”

Yuri scoffs. “That’s because you were hanging out with Viktor and you smelled like Makkachin, duh.  ‘Sides, pain is how she shows affection.”

Katsudon gives him the driest look he’s ever seen, but falls into step alongside him.  “Yes,” he says.  “I can tell it must run in the family.”
