Not for the first time since arriving did the young Canadian wonder at this strange town he’d ended up in - the loud pounding of his heart not enough to drown out the baaing market sheep. Taking a quick turn to avoid the morning crowds, JJ found himself running down a surprisingly quiet alleyway with only the sound of his steps and the burning of his lungs to spur him on. He passed a small family (sheep - of course) hanging their laundry out to dry and was fairly certain that while almost every Canadian joked about Newfoundlanders and their livestock, this place took that love to a whole new level.
Even though it had only been a few weeks since he’d arrived, the skater already had the lay of the land down and as he passed the familiar oak tree, he kicked up the pace another step. Sprint for ten minutes, slow for thirty seconds, sprint for ten minutes, pass Yuri, slow for three minutes and then kick it into high gear for - wait, Yuri?
Slowing down to a jog (he only knew of one person who could look so small and cute and still give off intense murderous vides) JJ felt a large grin break out across his face before he shoved it down for his usual cocky smirk. Appearances were everything after all. Despite his heavy breathing and sweaty visage, his hand raised in a lazy wave - the very picture of a cool dude.
“Good morning, Yuri-chan! How delightfully surprising to find you here - I have missed you so very much.” And yes, he was still unfamiliar with this town and yes, he should probably be using honey over vinegar but how could he resist the sweet temptation to prod and poke the sensitive little kitty?
