Yūshūkan - Iidabashi
day 1
Japan. Land of the Rising Sun. And cheap food. As well as war museums which happily gloss over the the problematic legacy of Imperial Japan.
In the guest book at the Yushukan, there were some pretty choice English words thrown at the proprietors. Besides all the Nazi comparisons, I think my favourite was when someone claimed that the Japanese had "fucking murdered Nanking." But honestly, what nation hasn't neglected to remember the nastier parts of its narrative?
Well maybe Germany, I guess.
