Thanks to my very conscientious travel buddy, we now have our highlights reel of our St Petersburg trip.
What a great way to re-experience Russia! See St Petersburg through our eyes (ok more of Candice’s since she filmed the footage).

Our reprieve from the rain. Beautiful moments keep greeting us in Moscow. #yusinmoscow #yusinrussia #yusinrus (at Aleksandrovsky Sad)
Moscow Metro Series #2: Two-thirds of my journey down into Arbatskaya station. #yusinmoscow #yusinrus #yusinrussia (at Arbatskaya Metro Station)
Russia: Day 8 - Moscow Monday was indeed blue today, in terms of the weather. The highest temperature for the day was 8 degrees celcius at about noon, and it was windy and chilly for the rest of the day. It has been such a long time since my days in Sweden (a good 5 years!), and I'm definitely not dressed warmly enough for the colder-than-expected Moscow weather. Nonetheless, I had a wonderfully peaceful time at the Novodevichy Cemetery today. It was beautiful and unlike any other cemetery I've visited before. Majority of those who have been laid to rest here have very personalised and oftentimes elaborate tombstones and plaques (some of which came in the form of statues)! My personal favourite was a statue of a young couple with the world map at their feet. I suspect it's a grave shared by an elderly couple who had passed on (inferred from the 1906 - 2007 inscribed). Perhaps I'm romanticising the idea but it's a beautiful thought, isn't it? To be buried with someone you spent your life with, and saw the world with. I hope they have found peace, and I hope they know that even in death, they were able to beautify a young stranger's life. Side note: The original intent of visiting the cemetery was to search for Boris Yeltsin (immensely elaborate Russian flag tombstone) and Nikolai Gogol (didn't manage to seek him out). What a wonderful surprise for me to chance upon so many other beautiful lives lived out here at the Novodevichy Cemetery.
I feel like I can finish writing a novel everytime I'm on one of these metro escalators because they seem to last forever. I'm staying along the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line, and the stations were built deep underground during the Cold War as they were planned as shelters in the event of nuclear war. #yusinrus #yusinrussia #yusinmoscow (at Метро Смоленская)
