[9:14pm] sitting on the couch in your apartment, you and yuto were spending the night watching anime on netflix -- well, partially watching. the two of you had been talking a considerable amount, as well. even though you were pretty good friends and had been since starting college, you were both a little more on the shyer side so you weren’t as close as you hoped to be -- you’d be lying if you said you didn’t have a crush on him so you wanted to be closer with him. but your sleepover at your apartment was turning out to be a good way to do so despite not having planned it. yuto had originally planned to come over because kino and wooseok wanted to go to some party, but wooseok pre-gamed at your apartment too hard and kino had to bring him home, so yuto stayed at your place because he was already there and it was getting kind of late anyway.
“oh, before i forget,” you suddenly spoke up in the middle of your conversation about what you usually wear for pajamas -- it was only brought up because yuto was wearing a pikachu tank top for his, “do you need extra blankets?”
he shook his head with a chuckle, “honestly, even the two you gave me is a lot. i usually just sleep with one.”
“what?” you gasped.
“...what?”
“you don’t know the joy of snuggling in a pile of blankets and feeling all cozy?”
“nope.”
“okay, we’re both sleeping out here, and you’re going to know the comfort and safety of sleeping in a nest of blankets,” you stated as you got off the couch and went to go grab pillows and blankets from your bed.
you figured yuto might give a quiet little “okay” because he was on the shyer side -- honestly you weren’t sure where your sudden boldness of “we’re sharing the blow-up mattress tonight” came from. but instead, he enthusiastically said, “okay! sounds like fun!”
after grabbing everything into a large and kind of heavy pile in your arms, you waddled your way back to the living room and dropped everything down on the floor. yuto laughed at the action before he got up to help you move everything into a mess on the mattress.
“y’know, it looks like a mess,” he chuckled as the two of you got down and laid in and under the mountains of blankets, “but it is pretty cozy.”
“you’re never gonna sleep the same again,” you promised.
the night carried on with the two of you watching more tv while talking. the two of you were sitting on the mattress with your backs against the couch, and you were somehow slowly moving closer to yuto. but somehow his arm also ended up draped on the couch cushions behind you, his fingers grazing against your shoulder. somewhere during your talking and laughing, it was teetering on playful and silly flirting that probably would’t be considered flirting considering you were adults and not in middle school anymore. but it had both of you smiling and giggling until your cheeks and stomachs hurt.
it wasn’t until almost midnight that the two of you decided it was probably time to sleep. you both shifted to lay down, though you scooted over a bit to give yuto some space.
“what’re you doing?” he whined softly.
“what do you mean?”
his voice was quiet as he asked, “why’d you move away?”
he sounded like a disappointed child who was trying to not sound disappointed even though it was very obvious. your cheeks warmed and you were happy the room was dark because you couldn’t stop smiling.
“sorry,” you giggled as you moved closer to him again, managing to find his open arms and lay your head against his chest.
“if this is how it feels to sleep in a bunch of blankets, i’d do it all the time,” he admitted, wrapping his arms around you and giving you a gentle squeeze.
