Ahhhh I love talking about art i've done, rlly lets me bring out the story in them <3.
I'm bad at backgrounds, so it's not obvious, but they're in the underground portion is Scarabia's desert, where Kalim and Jamil remain.
Kalim, despite being so outwardly kind in the Au, which should make sense as he's meant to give people what they wish for, is actually pretty posseive in a sense. He just sort of, has never noticed as everyone he's granted wishes to hadn't caught his attention like you. He never exactly had the urge to have what they have, or want what they want.
But I like to think he still holds some traits from when he was human. One of them being obliviousness to his wants. He’s essentially used to having everything, even in the so called “cursed” form he’s in. But there’s something different when it comes to you.
You’re not an object nor a monster. You’re just like him before everything. You’re an individual, a unique one. You’re one of a kind. A one of a kind person, that all these monsters want. A part of him feels like he should feel bad for not wanting to give you to anyone else, but at the same time, it’s not too bad right? I mean, there’s so many humans in the world!!! They can always find another one. Just let him be the one who marries you :))).
He doesn’t actually realize how desperately he wants you, though. To him, he’s just regularly courting you like he would’ve back then. (But back then he couldn’t snap anything into existence).
Clearly, it pisses Jamil off to no end. While Kalim is busy essentially eating up all your time, he's the one who actually has to do the work that keeps you with them. Throwing off hunters and getting rid of other monsters who want a piece of you, he seriously needs a break.
Unfortunately, when he tries, Kalims already by your side. The only positive thing he can think off from this situation, however is... An uglier side of Kalim seems to come out.
"Don't worry! It's okay, you don't have to rely on Jamil! I'm right here for you, I can do everything for you!"
He doesn't realize it, but no matter how good he is, he's still marked as a monster in your field of work.
