Ema Yuzuru is very relatable to me, in that, when I was 14 and a middle schooler, I, too, would immediately fall head over heels in love with any pretty girl who was even remotely nice to me. Like I get the impression that his reason for developing a crush on Chika was not any deeper than “she is cute and she smiled at me”. Perfectly understandable. Happens to the best of us. It's just... incredibly realistic writing for a character who is a middle schooler. And I also like YuzuChika because he cares about her as a friend too, while Chika has fun with him and Izuho because they're all the same age.
