It was a joy to work with @kazimakuwabara & @yyh-behind-the-scenes on this project. When I found out about the project, I just had to join. I had such fun combining yyh refrences with Labyrinth ones until they started to seemlessly blend together.
I'm looking forward to unwinding this fall and really slowly reading, and taking in the whole story.
Please check out the story!!!!

Below is more details about the art I made.
I knew exactly what I wanted to create when I got this assignment. I've been itching to draw a movie poster and have always found the Labyrinth poster exectionally beautiful with the beautiful designs by Brian Froud.
Ted Coconis is the artist behind the original Labyrinth poster. He works primary with acrylic paints, which surprised me because his work feels like watercolors. You can check out his work here.
Ted has studied, drawn and painted the figure for over 60 years. He worked almost exclusively as an illustrator for the first half of his ca
Huge shout out to the blog Film on Paper. Because of their amazing high resolution photos of the poster I was able to recreate mine to such accuracy. Please check them out!!

Also, thanks @themuppetmasterencyclopedia for having such detailed photos of the puppets. It was such a huge help when I was drawing Humongous.

Lastly, thanks to Aria Couture for having such highly detailed photos of Sarah's dress from different angles.

My favorite thing to paint was Kuwabara's outfit. I wanted it to be delicate and extravagant like the original dress, but still masculine.

I had the opportunity to work with the delightful Kai Uzui in the Yu Yu Hakusho Big Bang this year (circa 2024, @yyh-revival-big-bang)!
Crossovers are my favourite genre, so it was great to work on a YYH crossover with Demon Slayer with a slight Kingdom Hearts flavour. For other crossover lovers, please enjoy Tantamount!

I am the brainless person who had a complete digital sketch and then decided to go traditional.
I was luck enough to illustrate prompt 9, « Reunion » by Cinzy. Thank you for writing such a good story with one of my favourite couple!
Thanks to @yyh-revival @yyh-revival-big-bang or organising this amazing event !
« For this person to know about that…he wanted to, he desperately wanted to believe him, but something held him back. “Don’t…don’t toy with me,” he managed through numb lips.
“I would never do that to you,” Kuronue said, desperation lacing his voice. “I love you far too much to do that. I always have, my treasure.” »

I worked with @siderealdei to make some artwork for their story. Please check it out!!! It's an amazing love letter to the Yu Yu Hakusho and Solo Leveling fandom. They do such a good job of incorporating the two worlds together.

More below about the art piece
This was inspired by a piece I made years ago, but never fully completed. I knew I wanted Hiei and Yukina in the foreground in almost identical poses with Kurama and Yusuke looming in the background.
The most difficult part was the minions, there's just so much detail! I was very proud of how well the Dragon came out, with it being a last minute addition.
Our annual Big Bang has resulted in some amazing works, and first up to be revealed is @kazimakuwabara's amazing fanfiction with two amazing artists who worked on their fic, @emeraldoodles and @yyh-behind-the-scenes !
Artworks will be featured in the completed fic, previous of which you can see above.
Labyrinth by KazimaKuwabara
Summary:
On the cusp of aging out of foster care, Kazuma Kuwabara and Yusuke Urameshi are trying to figure out what comes next for the two of them. While trying to think about how to survive on their own, Yusuke opens up a mysterious book that warns not to read The Poem inside. For if you do, a furious Goblin King will come to drag you back to the Makai, a world of fantasy, rebellion, and adventure. A wise man would avoid reading The Poem, but has anyone ever thought of Yusuke and Kuwabara as "wise?"
Once the Poem is read, Yusuke is captured and spirited away to Gandara, behind the Labyrinthine forest, and Kuwabara will have to do his best to rescue his friend. But the world is not what it seems; full of danger and terrible misunderstandings. Can Kuwabara save his friend and unite a people torn apart by their past?
