Home Improvement is one of those shows that I was aware existed during my childhood but did not watch because I was a child (I was more interested in Arthur, The Magic School Bus, and Barney and Friends). Many years later, during this time in which I have a lot of time, I decided to watch some episodes of this family, comedy show.
In short, Home Improvement is a US sitcom of the “daily trials and tribulations of Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor, a television show host raising three mischievous boys with help from his loyal co-host, loving wife, and eccentric neighbor,” according to IMDB.
In episode 14 of season 1, “For Whom The Belch Tolls,” Tim and his sons—Brad, Randy, and Mark—are exercising in the garage when the mom, Jill Taylor, notices them.
Jill: Whoa, muscle beach right here in my own garage!
Tim: Wrong, honey. This is the Tim Taylor testosterone hour. I’ve got an idea. Let’s flex for her. [...]
And the first pose they do for her is the “Egyptian biception” (see screenshot), or a Z pose while flexing. It is a pretty iconic, parodical(?) pose, which is supposed to imitate the pose of figures on ancient Egyptian artworks. It brings to mind the Bangles’ song “Walk Like an Egyptian.”
