Enjoy the bold flavors of the Middle East with this Spicy Za'atar Grilled Chicken. The combination of za'atar, paprika, and cayenne pepper creates a savory and spicy kick, while the grill adds a smoky char. Perfect for a summer barbecue or a flavorful weeknight dinner.
Ingredients: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. 3 tablespoons olive oil. 2 tablespoons za'atar spice blend. 1 tablespoon paprika. 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Salt and pepper to taste. Juice of 1 lemon.
Instructions: To make the marinade, mix the olive oil, za'atar, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Pour the marinade over the chicken breasts that are in a plastic bag that can be closed again. Make sure the chicken is well covered and seal the bag. Put the mixture in the fridge for at least two hours, or better yet, overnight for the best results. Warm the grill up to a medium-high level. Take the chicken out of the marinade and let the extra run off. Throw away the marinade. Grill the chicken for 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until it's fully cooked. For the last few minutes of cooking, baste it with lemon juice. Once done, take it off the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve hot, and if you want, top with more za'atar.
