That is because I am making the most out of my lack of camera and camera stand by propping my camera against the side of the ladder of the bunk bed in in my room, providing me an angle with an interesting background that also manages to miss the majority of my room that is a mess. I can’t center it anymore because then you’d see more of my bed- which is a mess- or I would have to move off my bed and get a special chair or something, which is a lot of work tbh just to set up a shot differently.

john green is seen as pretty problematic for romanticizing terminal illness for and using it as a plot device which was upsetting to his then-fans who actually had terminal illnesses. He also exclusively writes teenagers and writes teenage girls in a sexist and kind of creepy way. He just makes me kind of uncomfortable but I'll agree that the people who bully him take it too far

I’ll be honest, I’ve read most of John Greens books, and I was huge fan of his videos for a long time. In terms of what you’re saying about how he writes women, its done in an intentional way? Like he basically calls out the “Manic Pixie Dream Girl” trope in every one of the books by having the dumbass male main character realize that the girl is an actual person and not the idealized prize that they made them out to be in their head. Like thats the whole back half of Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns. I honestly haven’t watched the movies so idk if the movies represented that well but that always rang through pretty clearly for me with the books. As for the terminal illness thing, I know he wrote that as a way of honoring a viewer with a terminal illness who he had had contact with, and while maybe people didn’t agree with the way he went about it, it still feels wrong to crucify him for it, especially since he’s definitely a dude who’s trying to do good and spread positivity? Like his videos are often helpful to tons of people and he does call himself out for things and tries to improve and obviously he’s not perfect but like........???
