Humans brought pigeons with us everywhere for communication/sport/eggs/meat ect and when they became obsolete people just sort of let them go. So city pigeons are actually descendants of domesticated birds and I think that's part of why they're so bold and habituate so easily.

Yeah absolutely, they’re a domesticated species and all it takes to revert back to that is a handful of corn.

It’d be fine if they weren’t taking it off our table and knocking over drinks. The next table over had been supplied a spray bottle to deter them but it just meant the one-legged veteran was also soaking wet because he didn’t take no for an answer when it came to snacks.
