Cat got your tongue, little mouse?
Sooo I read this amazing book last night and boy was it well written. it was basically about a girl who falls into the manipulative traps of a serial killer artist, who uses the blood of his victims to create mesmerizing sensations adored by the world through his beckoning charm but she knows what he truly is as he traps her inside a house, often cutting her up, calling it trust while trying to make her believe she wants all of this. The reason I have referred to this book as a tour de force is because his manipulation was so absorbing that I often found even myself questioning if he was truly evil; believing his love to be true, for his lies to be truths, and truly convinced that he was a good man, capable of love, suffering through mental illness, all while he continuously cheated on her, hurting her and so many more while persuading her that it was all their fault. so I think it's safe to say that this was a very intense mind game that could have been portrayed so well only by an adept writer (unlike colleen hoover *cough* verity *cough* which was sure equally fucked up and disturbing but horribly written)
